Many of Schoolytics metrics are based around student "Submissions" in Google Classroom. There are some important things to note about how submission data is collected and labeled in Schoolytics' analytical engine:
- Assignments are marked as completed by Schoolytics when an assignment is "turned in" or marked "done" by a student.
- Teachers can complete student assignments manually by "returning" them in the Google Classroom Gradebook page.
- Completed assignments as identified by the above conditions can be overridden by a teacher by inputting a grade of 0 (e.g. a student "turns in" an assignment but has not actually completed the task).

It is also important to know the types of course work that can be "turned in", marked "done", and "returned".
These are the course work types that will appear in your Gradebook:
- Assignments
- Quiz Assignments
- Questions
- Materials
- Announcements
- Comments
